Enterprise software developer Netmon Inc., a leading independent provider of network monitoring and management products, is pleased to announce a strategic technology alliance with Informant Systems.
“Our customers told us they wanted more tools to monitor and manage their mission-critical Windows systems,” states Jason Pomerleau, Product Manager for Netmon Inc., “so we began investigating various existing technologies, as well as the possibility of doing our own R&D work.” The company eventually identified Informant Systems products as “the perfect bridge between our customer requirements and our own technology platform.”
Under the new arrangement, Netmon will integrate its flagship suite of network monitoring products with performance agent technology provided by Informant Systems. The company will also extend technical support for Informant Systems products to its customers at no additional charge, “to provide a seamless product experience, which is ultimately what technology partnerships are supposed to be all about”, according to Pomerleau.
Both companies are Canadian, although that fact didn’t become apparent right away. “Ironically“, Pomerleau continues, “we’d been investigating their technology for some time before we realized they were also a Canadian company.” Netmon is based in Windsor, Ontario and Informant Systems in Edmonton, Alberta.
While geography wasn’t necessarily a contributing factor in the final decision, “it certainly says something about Canada’s contribution to the global technology landscape.” Integration work is expected to be completed soon, with a unified product introduction from Netmon scheduled to take place in early 2007.
