Independent software vendor Netmon Inc. recently announced the release of Netmon 4.0 Professional Edition, the seventh generation of its flagship network monitoring system. This latest release features integrated support for Cisco’s NetFlow protocol suite.

According to Cisco, “NetFlow efficiently provides a key set of services for IP applications, including network traffic accounting, usage-based network billing, network planning, security, Denial of Service monitoring capabilities, and network monitoring. NetFlow provides valuable information about network users and applications, peak usage times, and traffic routing.”

“By combining NetFlow collection and analysis with our existing Visual Network Exploration (VNE) technology, you can observe, in near real-time, network activity at any local or remote site,” states Jason Pomerleau, product manager for Netmon Inc.

Netmon products are sold as pre-configured appliances. Built-in email and pager alert systems notify network administrators and technicians of important events, such as service failures, performance bottlenecks or policy violations.

The company also announced several new additions to its product lineup, including Netmon Enterprise Edition, designed for larger networks or high-performance applications, as well as a series of environmental monitoring devices which integrate with its products.

Netmon Inc. is a division of the Next Group of Companies. Detailed product information can be found at www.netmon.ca.
